Concerts & Lectures

This modern flutist performs in a manner that stretches all boundaries. He offers a new and unique direction for a flute of rich tradition and extraordinary beauty. A search for new horizons is notable in his concerts - performances that are inspirational. A broad range of musical styles is evident in a most unusual repertoire of contemporary compositions. As a classical flutist Pellerite has dedicated himself to new musical pathways --- performing with a "difference" on the Native American flute. He assures a respectfulness of the instrument's valued traditions, and is devoted to preserving the image and time-honored beauty of this wonderful flute. It is heard in an attractive blend of Native American tradition with American contemporary music in solo, chamber music, and orchestral settings. Many composers have joined in this celebration of new music for the Native flute, having created this repertoire expressly for him. |
Mr. Pellerite has presented these compositions for Artist/Performance Series and as soloist with orchestra. His recitals have included works for solo flute, solos with keyboard, voice, strings and percussion. Instrumental faculty members have frequently joined him in these performances of this new repertoire. Together with the lectures, the presentations have been received with rave reviews most favorably.
We invite you to embark on an exciting musical journey and join in celebrating the "classical" Native American flute.

"Native American Flute Goes Classical"
In his Lecture/Recitals Mr. Pellerite proudly relates that he has been guided by the inspirational beauties of the Native flute in his search for its new identities. He describes how an instrumental development has stretched all boundaries and demonstrates new techniques on the Native American flute --- all by a comprehensive study that has demanded a self-styled approach.
It matters not their instrumental emphasis, students in all areas will capture the meaning of reassigning instrumental methods. They will be guided through the acceptance of any effective musical influences. This becomes an adventure in musical diversity.
All sessions are appropriately organized for Students in
His planned discussions are tailored appropriately also for Art Museum groups, or General Audiences A lecture may be scheduled as a single event or presented in conjunction with a solo or chamber music recital.
